L.E.A.D. Training Series
The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) Executive Institute is proud to announce the launch of its Leadership, Empowerment, Advancement and Development (L.E.A.D.) Training Series and Certification Program. The L.E.A.D. program is offering dual-track training models, comprised of three core courses, addressing the unique and current leadership needs in Law Enforcement.
The L.E.A.D. program’s tiered approach to leadership development is designed to prepare today’s emerging public safety leaders, from first-line supervisors through senior-level managers and administrators, to succeed in an ever-changing professional environment and to effectively meet the challenges of the future. Each tier, or level, builds on and enhances the skills learned at the previous level. All courses consist of three traditional classroom modules (during the Covid-19 pandemic substituted by live webinars), textbook readings, selected article reviews and writing assignments. The design, development and delivery of instruction are facilitated by a blend of subject matter experts, innovative criminal justice academics and practitioners from throughout the United States.
Participants successfully completing each stand-alone course will receive a Certificate of Achievement for that course. Upon successful completion of all three sequential courses (or their approved equivalency), participants will be presented the ILETSB Executive Institute Leadership Certification Award.
The L.E.A.D. program consists of the following three course offerings:
- Police Executive Role in the 21st Century (PER21C)
- Police Mid-Management Role in the 21st Century (PMR 21 C)
- Police Supervisory Role in the 21st Century (PSR21C)
